Ride4AfricaIsrael is a campaign set up last year by committed South Africans to bring drip irrigation technology from Israel to schools in underprivileged communities. With little rainfall, many schools’ feeding schemes are under stress.  Through this project, schools with their own vegetable gardens  may have access to the water solutions needed be able to grow the produce for students and neighbouring communities.

Led by Mizrachi SA, Deisi, Maccabi, the SA Zionist Federation and South African Friends of Israel have joined as partners in this exciting project. With the mentorship of world, and Maccabi champion, Kevin Evans, the team was ready both physically and mentally to ride the race for the second year. We received only positive feedback from other cyclists across the race.

With funds coming in from Sunday’s race, the pilot project can now be set up in a Gauteng school in the coming weeks.

The project will also educate kids and parents in the community about Israel; provide a model of healthy living to disadvantaged South Africans; tell the good story of Israel and all the great things it brings the world and unite diverse South Africans at a time when water is a critical issue.

There are opportunities to sponsor a rider or to join us next year for the ride. Contact us on info@ride4africaisrael.org.zawww.ride4africaisrael.org.za or call us on (011)-4853624.
