Sunday (March 8)

 

* Big Band Music Appreciation Society meets at St John’s College Auditorium, Houghton. A short DVD will be shown of Big Band performances followed by an audio presented by Ivan Daniels who takes us on a musical (vocal and instrumental) Latin-American trip. After interval a DVD, “Bathing Beauty”, will be screened. Time: 14:15 sharp.

 

* Second Innings hosts an outing to the Alan Committee Show “The Sound of Laughter”. Where: Pieter Toerien’s Main Theatre at Montecasino. Time: 15:00 for the show; meet the bus at Golden Acres at 13:00. Cost: R120 for the show; cost of bus per person is R90. Book with Ros Berman (011) 532-9616.

* Chev Social Services /CAJE’s “Enrich your Life” series presents “Waiting for a Miracle: Living Through Infertility” with reproductive specialist Dr Gobetz, medical director of Vitalab; Rabbi Fox, shifra (supervisor of infertility according to Jewish law); Tanya Rubin, social worker/fertility counsel.
