The event will be followed worldwide by many of the “immense worldwide following of about 1,3 million people,” as stated by Berland’s attorney, Themba Langa, in the bail application on Tuesday.

Their calling for the mass rally is likely due to the increasingly effective arguments against the rabbi’s being granted bail by senior NPA Advocate Nerisha Naidoo – who has told Regional Magistrate Pravina Raghunandan on Tuesday that the prosecuting authority sees Berland as a flight risk and painted him as somewhat of a charlatan.
Arguments have been completed and at 9am on Thursday the magistrate will hand down her judgement.
