ANC apparently misread its followers – again!

Within hours there were hundreds and in days thousands of posts – almost all slamming the attitude of the ANC.

A few examples:

SIBUSISO GIGABA – called the ANC “hypocrites”, and asked: “Why there is an Israel embassy in our country when Israel is an Apartheid country as you claim? Why (is) SA is doing trade with an oppressive regime as you claim?” 

He challenges the ANC to lead by example and end any relations with Israel. “If you fail to do that,” he says tongue in cheek, “stop criticising Mmusi Maimane and the DA you’re just the same.”

KGOSI MAIMANE – says even if Mmusi and the DA disappeared today, ANC failures will remain, Zuma will still have Nkandla, the Guptas will still be capturing our country…

DUNCAN ROBSON asks why the ANC “is up in arms about Israel but says nothing about Tibet or other human rights abuses in China?”

WANDILE LULANE has a go too, telling the ANC off: “Let us stop this obsession with the DA. Let us focus on real issues like factionalism in our movement.”

THABANI NDLOVU points out that “Mr Maimane also met with Palestinian officials in Ramallah and Rawabi, and with Palestinian human rights activists. He has also met with senior representatives of the Palestinian and Israeli business community to discuss how business and trade can be used to advance peace when politics is failing to make progress.”

This is not an arbitrary selection, either. The mood of the members appear to be completely out of sync with the leadership.
