This has to be the must-see video of the day – in which the irrepressible  Melanie Phillips, blames Western governments and leaders for the post-Gaza anti-Israel sentiment which, she says, was allowed to flare up into open expression of anti-Semitism.

Although this lecture was delivered in August, almost every prediction Phillips makes has come to fruition.

In Phillips’ apportioning of the blame, she seems to be of exactly the same view as Israel’s premier counter anti-Semitism fighter, Mr Yaakov Hagoel – see HERE.

 President Mahmoud Abbas has made it abundantly clear that “the Palestinians will never, ever accept Israel as a Jewish state,” says Melanie Phillips.

Back-stabbing

Despite this, she says, Israel suffers from the “sustained malice of President Barack Obama,” who, she says, claims to have Israel’s back.

“But I think it is more like a knife in the back,” says Phillips.

“There is absolutely no question that the animus against Israel has gone into a different gear with openly anti-Jewish attacks.

“But the response by both the Diaspora and the outraged non-Jews to this open anti-Semitism, I would suggest, is also deeply problematic.”
