The creation of a Facebook page called “Boycott 702 till John Robbie is gone” is fast gaining traction among the more right-wing Jews. “John Robbie has frequently shown his bias towards the Palestinian cause, while demonising and deligitimising Israel’s right to exist. Boycott 702,” is the Facebook page’s mantra.

Clearly, this cause has touched a nerve and the hundreds of comments being posted daily are ‘interesting’ – to say the least.

Their 1,004 likes as of Wednesday afternoon is growing daily, and at a fast rate to boot. “We have reached over 15,000 people!” says one of those involved who asked not to be named.

Jonathan Phillips, just one of many who posted and got liked today, writes:

“The only positive to come out of the past month’s conflict is that we can now see clearly who the Jew-haters are and who are not. Now that the thin veneer of civility and social niceties has been removed, we know where we stand (and where others do too).

“Once this all dies down I truly hope WE don’t forget who they are…”

Follow the chirps

David Bennett posted yesterday that:

“A few points about John Robbie’s Monday morning comments: He is in good company with other antis-Semites when he says that some of his best friends are Jews. Similarly he said that ‘Semites’ also refer to Arabs, which is another favourite trick of anti-Semites to dilute their Jew hatred.

“We know that the word ‘Semites’ does refer to Jews and Arabs but the term anti-Semitism is known to refer to Jew hatred. But if we humour him on this point, he would be contradicting himself in saying that one group of people came and took the land of another group of people because it would force him to acknowledge that Jews come from that land.”

Bennett, too, was well-‘liked’.

Capetonian David Hersch, chairman of the SAIPAC Zionist organisation, posted simply: “An obvious intestinal engineer and self-righteous idiot.”
