Chris Forrest bound to have you in stitches
OWN CORRESPONDENT
Pictured: Chris Forrest.
Capitalising well on his googly eyes and horn-rimmed spectacles, which have become part of his signature appearance, Chris Forrest has been said by audiences and critics, to be South Africa’s answer to Steve Wright, the poker-faced star of American stand-up comedy, but his stuffy and self-deprecating appearance might make you think of the hilarious Drew Carey.
His humour is witty and cynical, thought provoking and to the point. And his slowed-up delivery ensures that audiences take to him enthusiastically.
Having performed to sell-out crowds at the Edinburgh Theatre Festival in Scotland in 2003 and 2005, Forrest was an important presence at this year’s National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, and has been invited to work at various prestigious comedy clubs in and around London, including Headliners in Chiswick and Up the Creek in Greenwich.
