Disgraceful, dastardly act of Jewish media lies
Staff Reporter
I was absolutely convince that the Arutz Sheva headline: “Biden: American Jews Can Only Rely on Israel, Not US” and “US Vice President makes shocking statement, telling American Jews ‘no matter how involved you are in the US, the only guarantee is Israel’,” had to be wrong, writes Ant Katz.
An April fool’s joke maybe?
RIGHT: Joe Biden innocently and unfairly became the centre of a Jewish media storm over the past week. Online Editor Ant Katz says in a new blog published today that it was contrived by right-wing Jewish media
It was a case of journalists/editors/publishers actively lying to their readers by omission! “Actively”, as any journalist, editor or publishers should have realised that it was not possible that the US vice-president would sit the leadership of US Jewry down over Rosh Hashanah and tell this to them. It HAD to be out of context or misquoted.

Katz says Jeffrey Goldberg’s cover story for the April edition of The Atlantic: “Is It Time for the Jews to Leave Europe?” – is a brilliant piece of journalism that should not be missed – or misquoted.”

“For half a century, memories of the Holocaust limited anti-Semitism on the continent. That period has ende – the recent fatal attacks in Paris and Copenhagen are merely the latest examples of rising violence against Jews. Renewed vitriol among right-wing fascists and new threats from radicalised Islamists, have created a crisis, confronting Jews with an agonising choice,” writes Goldberg. “All comes from the Jew; all returns to the Jew.”
His story has already garnered almost 7 000 comments on their website.
One short week after the original spurious statements started doing the rounds, says Katz, a Google search for: “no matter how involved you are in the US, the only guarantee is Israel” – took just 0,73 seconds to identify over 100 million results.
So, how did the right-wing media papers, magazines, websites and social media pages befuddle the minds of their readers?

Few Jews could not have seen e-mailers, Facebook posts and links to these stories. In the end, it was a case of the Jewish right-wing media apparently knowingly conniving to enrage their readers, writes Katz. Read why…

‘That may well be – but when mentioning US Vice President Joe Biden, it would be salutary to consider what Menachem Begin told Joe Biden on 22 June 1982 (who as a then US Senator threatened to cut all US aid to Israel): \”Don’t threaten us with cutting off your aid. It will not work. I am not a Jew with trembling knees. I am a proud Jew with 3,700 years of civilized history. Nobody came to our aid when we were dying in the gas chambers and ovens. Nobody came to our aid when we were striving to create our country. We paid for it. We fought for it. We died for it. We will stand by our principles. We will defend them. And, when necessary, we will die for them again, with or without your aid.\” Senator Biden reportedly banged the table with his fist, and Begin retorted: \”This desk is designed for writing, not for fists. Do you think that because the US lends us money it is entitled to tell us what to do? We are grateful for the assistance we have received, but we are not to be threatened. I am a proud Jew, and you will not frighten me with threats. Take note: we do not want a single soldier to die for us\”.

Menachem Begin To Joe Biden: I Am Not A Jew With Trembling Knees
Menachem Begin
While the Obama Administration continues their pressure on Israel, for at least Vice President Joe Biden, it would not be the first time that there has been personal animosity with an Israeli leader. The reality is that while some of the names change, this conflict is about Israel’s refusal to surrender to a Palestinian Arab enemy who seeks to destroy them. The United States is wrong to pressure Israel – yet, this too shall pass.
History often repeats itself.
As media reports that the United States Government continues to pressure Israel, the reality is that America must respect the will of the Israeli public, whom overwhelmingly re-elected a Netanyahu government. As a senior Israeli elected official noted, “Settlement building will be one of the basic guidelines of the next government and just as I don’t interfere in America if they build in Florida or California, they don’t need to interfere in building in Judea or Samaria.”
Senator Biden reportedly banged the table with his fist, and Begin retorted, “This desk is designed for writing, not for fists. Don’t threaten us with slashing aid. Do you think that because the US lends us money it is entitled to impose on us what we must do? We are grateful for the assistance we have received, but we are not to be threatened. I am a proud Jew. Three thousand years of culture are behind me, and you will not frighten me with threats. Take note: we do not want a single soldier of yours to die for us.”
After the meeting, Sen. Moynihan approached Begin and praised him for his cutting reply. To which Begin answered with thanks, defining his stand against threats.
Ze’ev Jabotinsky, the leader of the Revisionist movement, which both Begin & Netanyahu emanate from noted in 1940 that, “We hold that Zionism is moral and just. And since it is moral and just, justice must be done, no matter whether Joseph or Simon or Ivan or Achmed agree with it or not.”
World leaders would be apt to remember these words and times.

‘I have a question for you Mr. Editor.
If a high ranking leader in the S.African government would say that the only guarantor for the future of S.African Jews is Israel, and not S.Africa, what would you say?
I would say he would be completely honest.’

‘I have a reply for you, Choni. It is simple. Biden did NOT SAY \”and not America.\” Read my full blog or The Atlantic’s cover story and you see what Biden REALLY said. That is exactly the point I am making.
If a high ranking leader in SA said the only guarantor for the future of SA Jews is Israel and that is why the SA Government will always support Israel to the fullest extent, why would either you or I have any beef with that?

‘A red herring from Choni — however I sincerely believe that irrespective of what is said, how it is said, and by which US leader / congressman /senator , it is impossible to believe that the US will ever, and can ever afford, not to back Israel.
Israel is the buffer which will always exasperate the Arabs in their contrivance and commitment, to spread their ‘word’ and ‘law’ into the Western world.
Israel is the frontline of any future conflict however it may be launched, and for the US and the Western world, to survive, Israel must survive. ‘

I would substitute the terms as \”courageous\”, and \”meaningful.\”‘
