Ask any Jewish girl in SA and she’ll tell you that “the tribe” has some of the sexiest members around (and vice versa by the way). But last week the US edition of People magazine confirmed it, by naming Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine as this year’s sexiest man alive.

And, according to the next day’s authoritative “Entertainment Weekly,” Levine is the first Jew ever to hold the “sexiest man alive” title.

“As a musician, you have fantasies that you want to win Grammys, but I didn’t really think that this was on the table,” he told People. “I was just amazed and stunned and it almost seemed like they were kidding, but they weren’t, so that’s cool.”

The magazine said yoga and spinning is the secret to the 34-year-old’s fit body.

Unfortunately, girls, Adam’s spoken for. He became engaged to his Victoria Secret model Behati Prinsloo (who was, coincidentally, todays Sunday Times cover-girl) this past July. The fact that she hails from Namibia, however, may mean we’ll see Levine in this part of the world sometime soon.

The Grammy Award-winning musician has found fame outside of his band, especially as a judge on the US show The Voice. This year marked another milestone for Levine with the release of his first feature film, Can a Song Save a Life? – in which he starred alongside Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo.
