Get on board for Fed’s Joburg Hebrew ulpan

The SA Zionist Federation is running a Hebrew ulpan in Johannesburg every week from February 7 to May 9. The classes are filling up fast, so anyone interested should attend their registration and assessment evening at Beyachad this Tuesday for the teachers to meet the pupils and assess their levels to place them in classes. This great initiative by the SAZF will accommodate “students” of all ages and all degrees of fluency. Classes will be held every Tuesday evening for two hours, but where there is a Jewish or public holiday, the lesson will be held on the Thursday evening of the same week.

The registration evening, which is essential to attend, will be held at the Beyachad Building, 2 Elray Street, Raedene, Johannesburg on Tuesday, February 31. It is essential to attend the registration evening if you are interested in attending.

As the registration evening has been split into different times for different groups – if users do not already have the information of when to attend, more information is available from Ronli Dorfman on (011) 645-2535 or training@sazf.org

The ulpan costs R2 500 per person per semester. Each semester consists of 14 weekly lessons and there will be two semesters per year.

The number of classes will be determined based on numbers who register and a student’s level of knowledge.

Anyone currently in the process of making aliyah will qualify for a discount and should advise Ronli Dorfman on registration on Tuesday.

REMEMBER THIS: Upon registration, the Fed will need a copy of all students’ ID or drivers’ licence for security reasons. If you do not take copies, you may have to go back later in the week – so remember this one.

The above flyer includes most key information – but if users are unsure they can contact Ronli
