Getting to know the characters in The Butterfly Lion
The Grade 4 class at Sandton Sinai is busy reading The Butterfly Lion by Michael Morpurgo.
At this point in the novel, we have been introduced to four main characters: Bertie, dad, mom and the lion cub.
Four pupils were chosen to be in “the hot seat”, with each being assigned a different character.
Members of the press from the “Daily Planet” arrived with pen and paper, posing challenging and thought-provoking questions to find out more about the characters. Questions asked related to their actions, reactions and emotions.
The press did an outstanding job as the quality of their questions showed insight, relevance and touches of creativity.
