Donald Trump’s nominee for his United Nations ambassador, Nikki Haley, slammed the world body’s bias against Israel, a strong ally of the US, vowing never to abstain from anti-Israel resolutions.
This was a clear reference to the incident in the dying days of the Obama administration last month when then-Secretary of State, John Kerry, instructed his UN ambassador to abstain from just such a resolution, regarding the building of settlements. In doing so, the US effectively dropped its ally for the first time in the 70-year-old world body’s history.
Haley, who is the Governor of South Carolina, was nominated by President Donald Trump as his UN ambassador, slammed the UN for its “consistent” and “outrageous… bias against our ally Israel”.
She added: “This cannot continue!”
Haley had been the first governor of a US State to sign legislation combatting Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel. She is the daughter of immigrants from India who made a point of reminding their children on a daily basis of their good fortune to be American citizens.
Her brothers served the country in combat duty.
Haley pledged never to abstain when the UN takes any action that comes in direct conflict with the interests and values of the US, such as anti-Israel UN Resolution 2334, which, she told Congress, had been “a terrible mistake”.

‘Improper reference? What does that mean? Gobbledegook?
What is wrong about saying Hamas, BDS, and UN & Abbas are no longer going to have the priviledges or finances that they used to have ?’

‘Harold and co. Logic is relative and subjective too.
\nThe characteristics of liberals and the left wing, is to always disparage the person criticising and with an opposing view, and try to make a fool out of them.
\nOught I to apologise for your embarrassment?’
