Ivermectin, Covid Golden Bullet? Prof Paul Marik in conversation with Solly Kramer & Friends

Dr Marik is Professor of Medicine and Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. He received his medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, and was an ICU attending at Baragwanath Hospital, in Soweto, South Africa. During this time he obtained a Master of Medicine Degree, Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacology, Diploma in Anesthesia as well as a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. Dr Marik did a Critical Care Fellowship in London, Ontario, Canada, during which time he was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeon of Canada.

Dr Marik has worked in various teaching hospitals in the US since 1992. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Neurocritical Care and Nutrition Science. Dr Marik has written over 400 peer reviewed journal articles, 80 book chapters and authored four critical care books, including Evidence-Based Critical Care (Springer, 2014). He has been cited over 25 000 times in peer reviewed publications and has an H-index of 76. He has delivered over 300 lectures at international conferences and visiting professorships. Dr. Paul Marik will discuss with our group(amongst other topics) the new studies showing Ivermectin (IVM) to be a safe, effective, and inexpensive antiviral and anti-inflammatory drug that could be given once a week with zinc + vitamin C + vitamin D to provide prophylactic protection from SARS-CoV-2.

Dr. Marik claims ivermectin plus wearing masks may protect better than a vaccine. Available without prescriptions for veterinary use, ivermectin costs only $13/dose for humans by prescription. Off-patent, Merck provides ivermectin free to many poor countries to fight parasitic diseases. The group then performs a comprehensive review of the published and posted clinical trial evidence in support of ivermectin and, after extensive discussion, reaches a consensus to develop a prophylaxis and early treatment protocol centered around the potent drug ivermectin. This becomes the new I-MASK+ prophylaxis and at-home treatment protocol for COVID-19 which, given the evidence showing a drastic reduction in transmission of the virus with use, promises to avoid future lockdowns! Prof Paul Marik and Prof P Kory have together researched and pioneered the use of Ivermectin, a repurposed anti parasitic drug used mainly in animals, with other safe and freely available substances to assist in the treatment and amelioration perhaps even preventing covid infections. They have written about, published widely just how successful their management of serious covid infections has been. Initially they were ignored, then poo pooed but now are being taken much more seriously and many trials using their protocols are in process. Ivermectin has just been approved for ’compassionate’ use under medical supervision in South Africa.
