UK Lubavitch head Rabbi Nachman Sudak dies
Rabbi Nachman Sudak, who built Lubavitch in the UK, has died age 78. Since 1959 as the personal emissary of the last Lubavitcher Rebbe, Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis said Rabbi Sudak “made a contribution of inestimable value to the landscape of Jewish life in the UK”.

‘Security minister admits police criticism justified’
Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovich this week visited the Makor Chaim Yeshiva high school in Kfar Etzion, the school of two of the three teenagers kidnapped by Hamas terrorists. He admitted that there were failures on the part of Israeli police in handling the case.

‘Facebook page calls for executing Palestinian murderers hourly’
A Facebook page that calls on Israel to execute a Palestinian murderer every hour until the three kidnapped Israeli teens are returned,has garnered more than 19 000 likes. There is no indication of who established the page, created on June 13, one day after the abduction of the boys.

‘Miriam Faust to become Bar-Ilan University’s first female provost’
Bar-Ilan University, Israel’s only religious institute of higher education, has appointed its first female provost, Miriam Faust, 61, a professor of psychology, who runs Bar Ilan’s brain and language lab. She is the first woman in the university’s history to hold this position.
