Joel Pollak as US ambassador to SA, mere speculation

I nearly did a double take when I saw the article “SA-born Joel Pollak touted as next US ambassador to SA, in the February 24 edition of Jewish Report.

Where in the world do people get their ideas from? Apparently this ambassadorship is a long way from being deliberated and Pollak’s mother-in-law, Rhoda Kadalie, seemingly was in shock by this rumourmongering.

Pollak would have to be insane to expose his young family to the virulent jealousy and hatred swirling around these shores.

Shannon Ebrahim (wife of Ebrahim Ebrahim), foreign editor of the not-so-Independent Group and ANC mouthpiece of note, has already written a lengthy article about the selection of Pollak as US ambassador to South Africa, describing it as a first step towards President Donald Trump’s attempt at regime change. As if South Africa even features on Trump’s radar screen!

Shannon Ebrahim quickly seized the opportunity to take a nasty swipe at Rhoda Kadalie in a clear case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Naturally this was followed by a hysterical letter from a member of the Media Review Network in the same newspaper. Need I say more?

“The Donald” is cutting foreign aid and it would not surprise me in the least if he decided that South Africa can manage very well without an ambassador.

This story was very cautiously researched and written and we stand by it 100%. – Editor

‘Shannon Ebrahim has a skewered view of the world. However, if she believes that a Pollack appointment is Trump’s first step towards regime change it simply a figment of her imagination. On the other hand, hope springs eternal. ‘
