Following the success of its arts and culture festival held over the past two years, the school will once again be hosting this event from August 22 – 24.
The signature event of the festival is the Cultivate Art Exhibition, which gives spectators a close and personal look at the creative minds behind the paintings on display.
Works by some of South Africa’s foremost artists including William Kentridge, Willem Boshoff, Norman Catherine, Phillemon Hlungwani, Kim Lieberman, Deborah Bell, Candice Kramer, Bambo Sibiya, Lynda Ballen, Bevan de Wet, Mario Soares, Bev Butkow, Usha Seejarim, Nelson Makomo, as well as other upcoming artists, will be on sale.
The exhibition and art sale will be the main annual fundraiser for the primary school PTA, whose focus is on raising funds for the continued upgrading of the school as well as creating opportunities for the school to bring together the community.
On Tuesday August 22, parents, grandparents and the broader community, are invited to attend the opening night of “Cultivate” at the school. Ruarc Peffers, senior art specialist at Aspire Art Auctions, will be giving an opening address at 19:00.
