KDVP wins prestigious Israel Quiz 2016

King David High School Victory Park has once again won the Israel Quiz. With Torah Academy Boys’ High School coming second.

King David High School Victory Park has once again won the Israel Quiz. The final round was held on Sunday afternoon in the Edward Nathan Sonnenberg Auditorium in Sandton.

The popular quiz was organised by the Israel Centre, together with the SA Zionist Federation. Participants came from Torah Academy Boy’s High School, King David Linksfield, King David Victory Park and Yeshiva College.

The quiz consisted of three “live” rounds in front of a full-house audience. Finalists were knocked out in each of the three rounds based on their scores.

The final round comprised 15 participants, with seven from KD Victory Park.

After the first round eight participants progressed to round two, with five coming from Victory Park. The final round was whittled down to three participants, with two coming from Victory Park.

The overall winner was Joshua Arenson, a grade 10 learner at KDVP, who won two tickets to Israel. Ellie Joffe, a 15-year-old learner at Torah Academy Boys’ High School, came second. Third place went to Victory Park’s Gavriel Nossel, fourth place to Victory Park’s Joshua Nossel and fifth place to another KDVP learner, Daniel Fleishman.

The three judges were Aviad Sela, Bev Goldman and Guy Hadad. Rabbi Dorron Kline of Telfed in Israel and Ari Kruger ran the quiz.
