The high school pupils, who are members of the extra-mural groups Writing Club and Slam Poetry, prepared for the day by writing their own, original, Jewish-themed children’s stories during an afternoon writing club session.

As Kate Lange, a budding poet and writer in Grade 9, explained to her Grade 2 group, reading together not only creates positive associations with literacy, but creates bonds and builds confidence.
