King David Schools’ Big Walk 2018 a big hit
The event was a great success, attracting well over 2 500 participants.
The aim of the KD Wild Walk and Run, generously sponsored by Discovery Health, is to unite all the King David Schools in a fun and healthy way by encouraging unity and cohesiveness across all ages and between all its campuses.
The Johannesburg Zoo proved to be an outstanding choice of venue as everyone enjoyed the magnificent zoo facilities and attractions. King David students from pre-school to matric loved seeing and hearing the animals as they walked or ran through the zoo along the 5km route.
The celebrations continued after the walk and run on the bandstand grass area, where participants and their families enjoyed the fun-fair rides, listened to the background music and ate their picnic breakfasts while basking in the glorious Johannesburg sun.
According to Rabbi Craig Kacev, director of the SA Board of Jewish Education: “The KD Wild Walk and Run was certainly a fantastic way to start the year of festivities that will be taking place across all King David Schools this year. A 70-year milestone provides the ideal opportunity to look back on the role and contribution our King David Schools have made over the past seven decades, and we look forward to continuing this legacy for our King David community.
“The KD Wild Walk and run is a fantastic opportunity for King David families across all campuses to enjoy time together outdoors, and a great morning was had by all.”
