Montagu Dried Fruit & Nuts – SA’s most popular brand of dried fruit and nuts – has opened a store-within-a–store at KosherWorld in Glenhazel, offering a complete kosher range of Montagu Dried Fruit & Nuts.

The new outlet opened last month and adds to KosherWorld’s service offering to their customers with a store-within-a–store concept at the centre – ensuring that the entire shopping centre remains, as they say, “Truly Kosher.”

KosherWorld Centre also includes other branded outlets such as the only kosher Seattle Coffee Store, the only kosher Mi-Vami, Sushi, and Chop & Wok as well as a Chabad Book & Judaica Shop.

This expansion has allowed the country’s only all-kosher supermarket to add a fifth national brand by becoming the only exclusive supplier of the full kosher range of Montagu dried fruit and nuts in the area.

KosherWorld director Joel Back told Jewish Report that he was “attracted to Montagu’s livery, quality and freshness of their products, and also by the all-embracing hands-on support from the Montagu management team.”

Montagu Dried Fruit & Nuts started as a small family business in the Klein Karoo town of Montagu two decades ago and now has well over sixty branches spread throughout South Africa offering its range of 120 products – and also export to many countries.

“Good quality dried fruit and nuts fits our desire to serve the kosher community, more and more of our customers are opting for a healthier lifestyle,” says Joel, This played a key role in KosherWorld’s decision to become part of the Montagu
family.

All retail outlets at the KosherWorld Centre, including Montagu Dried Fruit & Nuts trade from 7am to 10pm daily (except for Shabbat when they close at 4pm on Fridays and all five stores re-open 30 minutes after Shabbat ends on Saturdays).

  • Health experts insist that nuts, dried fruits and seeds are amongst nature’s healthiest foods should be eaten regularly, as they are major sources of protein, minerals and antioxidant vitamins.
