Laws regarding the expiry date of products should be revised
The contretemps and recent panic about the expiry dates of products is a storm in a tea cup.
Jack Miller Johannesburg
Expiry dates are a scam and a racket, encouraged by manufacturers to increase production by scaring people into believing that harm will befall them should they consume a so-called expired product. Myriads of products are perfectly safe well beyond their expiry dates. This applies not only to tinned, canned or bottled products, but also to medicines, some of which are extremely expensive.
The laws pertaining to this should be revised.
