His Excellency Ambassador Arthur Lenk has been hard at work since his arrival in South Africa in August. The new ambassador of Israel in South Africa, Lesotho, Mauritius and Swaziland has travelled widely in SA to acclimatise himself and, amongst other things, travelled to impoverished communities to explore where and how Israeli technology and expertise can assist.

“Likud South Africa is honoured to be hosting Ambassador Lenk again,” the group’s Gauteng chairman Mike Fisher told Jewish Report.

Likud, with the assistance of the SA Zionist Fed, will host a public talk on Monday 18 November at Beyachad in Elray Street, Raedene, to welcome him. “We invite all members of the community to come along and listen to a talk by Mr Lenk on the topic ‘Israel and South Africa: Imagining the possibilities’,” Fisher said.

It will no doubt be interesting to hear what the ambassador has to say after his extensive travels.

RSVP is essential, says Fisher. Contact Froma on 011 645-2505 or e-mail her on froma@beyachad.co.za with your ID number. Entrance is R30 at the door and covers refreshments.
