In light of the recent long-hair at schools debate in the media, some of our male students have volunteered to have their long hair cut and will be donating the hair for the making of wigs for cancer sufferers.  Students were asked to donate R20.00 each which will be donated to former King David Victory Park Student Jarred Wood (diagnosed with cancer in 2015 just before sitting his final Matric examinations. He is now in full remission and is registered to write his Matric in November this year).  “This is a worthwhile and important initiative with which our students are proud to be associated.   Our boys cutting their hair for cancer is just another example of the dignified and mature behaviour that the students have exhibited over this time”, said KDHSVP Principal Andrew Baker.

The boys who are affectionately known as LHD (Long Haired Dudes) commented “”We the members of the LHD will proudly cut our hair for cancer. It is important that our every action is done with respect and integrity. We have come a long way with our cause. Despite our loss, our final act as the LHD will be one that shall not be forgotten.”
