The sound of dancing and singing resonated throughout the suburb of Glenhazel as the crowd of close to 1000, together with the Torah, made their way to Yeshiva College.

The chuppah covering the Torah, was made by Marion’s family and friends and was adorned with words which her family and close friends used to describe how they felt about Marion and the way she lived her life.

It began in Tanced Road at Nicole and Naphtali Mandelberg’s home and was danced down to Yeshiva College under a chuppah to Naphtali’s brass band.

Rabbonim, including Chief Rabbi Warren Goldstein, Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Avraham Tanzer and many others came to this special happening.

Stan Smookler writes: It is a year since Marion passed on and it was suggested to her children.

Marion lost her husband tragically at a young age and committed her life to her three children and was involved in the Yeshiva Nursery School, first as a teacher and then as principal. She was with them for 35 years and unfortunately due to ill health had to retire.

She took it from a nursery school to a Torah School where Limudei Kodesh was included as a daily part of the curriculum. She provided leadership and patient teaching skills to generation after generation during the most formative developmental years of their lives.

Marion was both kind and gentle but with an inner strength and resilience that enabled her to provide the ongoing stability and direction so integral to the school which was indeed her home from home.

Marion is survived by three children Nicole Mandelberg, Karen Shor and Doron Falk, their spouses, 12 grandchildren and her sister Yvonne Boruchowitz.
