Olive tree symbol of Israeli solidarity

Cape to Cairo Israel Mission, a large Christian Zionist organisation whose members are “ardent supporters” of the SA Friends of Israel group, according to SAZF Vice-Chairman Mark Hyman.

They are active throughout Africa and celebrated Tu B’Shvat last week Sunday in Modimole (previously Nylstroom) by planting an olive tree at their Cape to Cairo Christian Academy campus.


Among those who attended were Pastor Felex Fambi; Ugandan Ambassador to South Africa Julius Peter Moto, representing churches in Africa standing with Israel and praying for the Jewish people; and the mayor of Modimole, Marlien van Staden.

    ‘Israel is the land for our brothers the Jewish people. My family and I we stand with Israel whole heartedly. We loveIsrael and all the Jewish people. Planting a tree in solidarity to Israel was such a great honour to us.’
