ANT KATZ
The Union of Orthodox Synagogues (UOS) first warning and alert notice can be downloaded, printed or sent to friend and family by using SAJR’s convenient PDF document: PESACH ALERTS 2014/5774
This alert warns the community that the “Pesach section” in retail stores is not under Beth Din supervision. “Our certification extends only to the products, and we have no control over how independent retailers pack their shelves,” say the UOS. “Please check the labels very carefully to ensure that the products are properly certified for Pesach.”
Says the UOS: “KosherWorld is certified by the Kashrut Division and the Pesach shelves have been checked at this store.”
The notice also advises that It has been found that there are a number of products that are being sold as “Matzah” which are not suitable for Pesach.
Please check that the Matzah that you are purchasing has a reliable Hechsher and is Kosher for Pesach, that some imported products, especially from Israel, carry a valid Pesach Hechsher but contain kitniyot or kitniyot derivatives.
They also warn about which Hechsherim are accepted by the SA Beth Din as kosher for Pesach as well as flagging lots more essential warnings for the community. So, SAJR users, for your convenience here it is: PESACH ALERTS 2014/5774
