Rabbinical association elects new executive
The South African Rabbinical Association, the official body representing South African rabbis across the country, held a significant general meeting towards the end of 2018 to discuss weighty matters affecting the community.

The meeting included the election of Rabbi Yossi Chaikin as Chairman of the association to replace Rabbi Gidon Fox, who stepped down. A number of younger rabbis were also elected to the executive with a view to building strong leadership for the future.
