Retiring or relocating, East London is a splendid option
It is very sad how many small Jewish communities have ceased to exist in South Africa. On behalf of the 64 members of the East London community, I would appeal to anyone considering relocating to the coast, especially retired people, to consider East London, as we did.

We enjoy a subtropical climate, beautiful beaches, excellent medical facilities and have a fully functioning Jewish community with a rabbi and a rebbetzen who runs a cheder for our nine children.
Local kosher chickens and lamb are available, weekly shiurim are hel, as well as regular shul services. There is a local branch of HOD as well as a very active Union of Jewish Women.
Unless we can attract more members, we are unfortunately going to become another statistic in a very short while. Should anyone want further information please contact me on mazal@telkomsa.net
