Schröder makes surprise appearance at Goldmann Fellowship
Delegates to this year’s Nahum Goldmann Fellowship for young Jewish leaders in August were treated to a surprise visit from Germany’s former Chancellor, Gerhard Schröder, who happened to be staying at the hotel where the conference was taking place.

Upon being told about the conference by Martin Kind, the owner of the Kokenhof Hotel, Schröder went to greet the delegates, and was well received by fellows from all over the world. His appearance bolstered greetings from other senior figures, including a reception by President Gabriella Andretta in the Parliament building and the Mayor of Hanover in the City Hall.
The fellowship took place in a beautiful village called Burgwedel in Hanover, from 5 to 12 August.
