Sharon gets her just desserts
It’s off to New York Kosherfest Expo for best-selling ‘Butcher’s Wife’ author who joins top-10 kosher cook book authors like Suzi Fishbein & Jamie Geller.
‘Butcher’s Wife’ to be represented at Kosherfest Expo 2013
Sharon Lurie, award-winning, best-selling South African cookbook author of “The Kosher Butcher’s Wife” series of recipe books published by Random House Struik, has won a coveted award for her latest book “Celebrating with the Kosher Butcher’s Wife”.
Sharon is the wife if Ian Lurie, owner of Nussbaum’s Butchery.
In a media release, Random House Struik says Lurie’s prize includes the opportunity to promote her latest book in New York in The Author’s Corner at Kosherfest, the largest annual kosher trade expo in the world.
Being selected as one of the top 10 kosher cookery book authors at the Expo, puts Lurie up there with the likes of Suzi Fishbein, author of eight international bestsellers in the “Kosher By Design” series, Jamie Geller of “Joy of Kosher” fame and the like.
Cutting edge kosher
The 25th anniversary exhibition takes place on October 29 and 30 and promises to keep kosher on the cutting edge.
Culinary competitions, cooking demonstrations and new product launches, are just some of the exciting happenings this year.
All food at the end of the Expo will be donated to over 600 community food programmes that feed New York’s hungry – from soup kitchens and homeless shelters to Aids care providers, senior centres and children’s daycare centres.
