Sifrin on a mission – the bearer of enlightenment
Rabbi Ben Isaacson
The said rabbi even claims to know the true origin and development of the kol isha law, something the Orthodox rabbinate are ignorant of. I think I can guess, unfortunately been a part of that school of thought for a short time in my life, where that source is to be found.
That, having been said, I wonder why Mr Sifrin makes no mention of the rousing revival of Torah Judaism in the countless number of shiurim throughout Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Is this because of the attraction of the masses to narrow dogma? Of course he has nothing to say concerning the revolution in the protection of women’s rights led by Rabbi Moshe Kurtstag, head of the Beth Din.
As a result of this bold ruling, any evil man who refuses to give a get to his wife thus condemning her to being “chained for the rest of her life” will be excommunicated without any rights within the Jewish community.
Is this also narrow dogma? Or maybe this: The unbelievable triumph of Chief Rabbi Warren Goldstein in attracting thousands in this small community to his Shabbat event which was attended by 6500 people and his Sinai Indaba which drew a similar number.
Is this also the result of narrow dogma?
