Top Billing asks Pharrell about Woolworths

Pharrell Williams has ignored incredible pressure from the anti-Israel BDS  organisation as the retailer purchases a few items from Israel. The SA-arm of the abti-Israeli US-based NGO, BDS South Africa, remains adamant that Pharrell should stop his partnership with Woolworths until the retailer stopped importing products from Israel.

BDS spokesperson Kwara Kekana says, “It is very necessary that people in the entertainment industry in particular start to discuss the issue of human rights. There are a lot of celebrities coming out on the issue of Palestine, lending their own voices to this cause as well.”

But Bonang sat down with global chart-topper and social voice Pharrell to ask him about his new campaign in South Africa, his childhood and how he is walking the talk when it comes to environmentalism.

They also chat to Susie Squire (Head of PR & Communication, Woolworths) who reveals they chose the star because he is so passionate about the environment and cares about education.

As his mom was a teacher, says Pharryll, the mega-star says he has his education to thank for where he is today.
