‘I read and review many books, many on Jewish and Middle East issues and would like to write up an article on this book pertaining to  anti-Semitism in the Middle East’

‘I would be thrilled to win a copy of the book I worked with Jenny Dr Karabus’s wife many years ago and had heard of Dr Karabus through her Just remembering his kindness and  compassion to his young patients and the vast knowledge he has of the illness he has treated for many years leaves me in absolute horror of how he was treated in the Emirates I followed the case dilligently and was thrilled when Dr Karabus was released    ‘

‘I would be very keen to read the book – I heard Prof Karabus talk at Limmud and was most interested in his perspective. The story is one of travesty of justice – a good man, persecuted for reasons that I struggle to understand. I also read Suzanne Belling’s book The Travelling Rabbi and enjoyed it.’

‘It seems to me Larry, that the only reason a Jewish doctor should want to help in an Arab country could primarily be for financial rewards. Am I wrong?’

‘We in East London are pretty cut off from Jewish Life and any visiting Jewish speakers. We did not have the opportunity to hear Prof Karabus’s talks on his awful experiences and I would therefore very much appreciate receiving a copy of the book.  I would be able to pass it on to other people here. ‘This is one of those books that will break open the ‘silence’ of the Arab-ruled countries, as well as the cases that were under court proceedings. Finally we get to hear the account of a man, who was persecuted, despite giving life to so many. I am looking forward to reading this gripping account. 0795250075′

‘When a person shares a part of their life by writing their story in a book, they do it because there must be something for others to learn from, grow from and even better identify with the trials and challenges of the other. Though overseas (Israel), I was able to keep up with the majority of the happenings with the Professor. It would now be wonderful to be able to read the whole story from the direct subjective view of the Professor himself and stand to learn and gain so much more about what he went through and how he overcame the immense challenges he surely went through.’

‘Though living in Israel, we followed the case closely, and appreciated the input of our friend Mike Bagram. The world is very antisemitic, but the Arab world is very closed to outsiders and non-believers. Someone as capable as Suzanne Belling would be able to enlighten the world of the Arab world and its beaurocracy through Dr Karabus’  personal story. Someone so dedicated as Dr Karabus did not deserve to be treated the way he was, and if he thought it necessary to tell his story, we have an obligation to hear it. Cant wait to read his story. Well done to all concerned in putting this plan together.’

‘this true story is very true to today’s anti-semitic ways. To often people tend to not pay enough attention to the little things done and said against the jewish population. This could lead to a repeat of the past, when we are not taking concern about this.

this is a book i WOULD LOVE to read.

‘I followed the story very closely, and as a fellow doctor can SOOOO identify with this issue of DOING ones best, doing what one believes to be in the best interest of your patient, losing a patient(unfortunately we cant save them all altho we would love to and aim to do so) , and then NOG get sued for our efforts -something that has always concerned and frightened me . I would also like to understand  more fully just what the poor professor had to go through, and enlightn myself  more about the ridiculous laws in DUBAI, THAT would allow a trial in absentia’

‘This is one Autobiography I don’t want to miss out reading. Only hearing this account straight from the Professors mouth can one really understand the real story emotions and thoughts of a man who wanted to help and do good and in the end suffered. This is only something that the Professor can give over no reporter can do justice to the story like the Professor himself who lived the entire experience. This is a one autobiography I must read. ‘

‘I felt for Prof Karabus and his family through their ordeal. I have followed his story closely from the beginning. I am happy he has been released and able to write this book. We all need to read it and probably change our thoughts of visiting such countries with such ‘silly’ laws. ‘

‘As a UAE Medical Malpractice lawyer who followed the case intently I would be interested to know whether Dr Karabus feels that anti-semitism is a material factor in this case and, if so, upon what basis. Certainly many of the comments on the page-and elsewhere- seem to level this charge. From my perspective, the biggest issue is, of course, the trial in absentia which, surprisingly, occurs in other  \”western\” jurisdictions including Belgium and Italy. I would also like to have an insight as to why  Dr Karabus feels aggrieved with Emirates Airline and what duties/responsibilities he feels they owe him as a fare-paying passenger.’
