Wrongful Conviction : It could be you – Thembekile Molaudzi & Carolyn Raphaely

Published

on

In a grave miscarriage of justice Thembekile Molaudzi was convicted and sentenced to life-imprisonment in 2004 for the murder of a policeman – a crime he always swore he did not commit. After spending eleven years behind bars protesting his innocence, his conviction and sentence were finally over-turned by the Constitutional Court. Carolyn Raphaely met Thembekile three years before his exoneration when his prison warder asked her to help an inmate he believed should never have been in jail.
