Yom Yerushalayim at King David
King David High School Victory Park celebrated the 51st Yom Yerushalayim in a special assembly emphasising the significance the Old City of Jerusalem has held for the Jewish people for over 3 000 years.
Pupils from Grades 10 to 12 participated in the assembly, which included acting, singing, dancing and the reading of passages relating to the City of Jerusalem.
At break, pupils went to Café Be’Ivrit to chat about the theme of Yerushalayim. Café Be’Ivrit is a classroom that the school has turned into a coffee shop for pupils and staff. The only way to enter this café is by speaking in Hebrew.
