Young Jewish adults celebrate Purim up in the sky
Over 1 000 young Jews came together in Johannesburg to hear the Megillah on a Johannesburg rooftop as part of a Chabad event celebrating Purim last week.

Rabbi Levi and Leah Lipskar of Chabad, who runs K Space, with the assistance of Galya Bender, set out to make sure that each young Jew experience Purim and the mitzvot while still ensuring that the Purim spirit was kept intact, Chabad said in a media release. Each “Mitzvah Stall”, set up at the venue, the 22nd floor of the Randlords’ building in Braamfontein, provided an interactive way of ensuring that each young guest was able to perform the mitzvot of Purim, while still having a party.
In true Purim style, with great music and a wonderful vibe, Johannesburg’s Jewish young adults celebrated till the wee hours of the morning.
K Space is an organisation which caters for young adults and students, through its Chabad on-campus arm. Its programming includes hosting events, learning classes and motivational business talks.
A major part is the offering for social responsibility opportunities to young adults through its Friendship Circle for children with special needs and their families. The K Space house is open at all times for students looking for a place to study as well as young entrepreneurs looking for a place to work.
